The Saar Youth Choir is looking forward to the new year with great anticipation. The focus will continue to be on inspiring children and young people to sing, conveying the joy of music to them, and introducing them to singing.
Networking meeting for children’s and youth choir directors in Saarland
On May 9, 2026, a networking meeting will be held for children’s and youth choir directors from all over Saarland. On this day, we want to create space for professional exchange, new ideas for musical and educational work, and discussions about current challenges in children’s and youth choir practice. Choir directors of all experience levels who want to further develop their work and deepen contacts within the regional choir landscape are invited to attend. SingCity 2026 in St. Wendel
Another major event will follow in the fall: on September 6, 2026, the Saarland Youth Choir will take part in the “SingCity” choir festival in St. Wendel. This biennial festival is organized by the Saarland Choir Association and transforms the city into a huge choir landscape. Numerous choirs from all over Saarland and beyond will fill the city center with song on this day – a celebration for all who love choral singing.
Singing in schools
In addition, the Saar Youth Choir would like to establish more partnerships with schools in the coming year. The aim is to inspire children and young people to sing in their everyday school life and to make music a unifying element. In this way, singing together should become an integral part of learning and experiencing.
